Patrick Hannon has over 15 years of trial and litigation experience representing people in state and federal courts throughout the Southeast. He has successfully represented clients in a wide variety of cases—from those involving traumatic brain injury to those involving an insurance company’s bad faith refusal to pay policy benefits.
Civil practice areas include trucking and automobile collisions, spinal cord injuries, work place injuries, Fair Labor Standard’s Act (overtime and wage & hour cases), premises liability, products liability, medical malpractice, and class action lawsuits.
Patrick has both big firm and courtroom experience. He began his practice with a large national defense firm and is now able to use that experience to counter the litigation tactics that large firms and corporations employ. His criminal law experience includes serving as Assistant District Attorney in Fulton County. He also maintains an active appellate practice.

Areas of Practice
Patrick has experience in a wide variety of case where the client has been injured by someone's negligence, such as car collisions, tucking collision, slip and falls, medical mistakes, and workplace injuries. Many personal injury cases settle before the case is tried to a jury, but the only way to secure the best settlement is to prepare the case to be tried in front of a jury. How much money you can get from a personal injury lawsuit depends on the type of injury and the circumstances under which someone was injured, as well as several other factors. Patrick represents clients in the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court. Whether you won or lost your case in the trial court, you may face an appeal to a higher court that can be a costly and prolonged process. We may be able to assist you with this process.
Wage & hour
The Fair Labor Standards Act imposes two main requirements on most employers: (1) employers must pay a minute wage, and (2) employers must pay time-and-a-half for overtime (hours worked over 40 hours per week). With increasing pressure on corporations to improve the bottom line, employers frequently violate these requirements—for example by erroneously designating a salaried employee as “exempt” from the overtime requirements. But your entitlement to overtime pay does not depend on whether you are paid a fixed salary or by the hour. If you believe you are entitled to unpaid overtime or have not been paid the minimum wage, contact us today. We may be able to be of assistance.
Civil litigation is a broad area, essentially any lawsuit that is not criminal in nature. Often civil litigation involves a dispute over a contract. We handle civil cases for individuals forced to sue large corporations such as insurance companies. For instance, if you have suffered a loss but your insurance company is refusing to pay you under your insurance policy, we may be able to help. Like all legal issues, civil litigation requires a thorough analysis of the situation.
